The World Series of Poker Academy,  poker’s premier series of instructional camps where participants learn first-hand from the world’s greatest players, today, announced the launch of two versions of its free Poker IQ Test and Academy Recommendation Engine available online at http://www.wsopacademy.com/pokertest.  The tests assess players’ strengths and weaknesses, identifies areas that need the most improvement and recommends the Academy that is best for each players’ skill level.

The World Series of Poker Academy has developed two types of tests to individually assess players’ cash poker skills and tournament poker skills. The Free Poker IQ test is a simulation of a cash game or tournament environment and is comprised of twenty No-Limit Hold’em hands. Players are evaluated based on the decisions they make in each hand.

Upon completion of the test, players are emailed a detailed, personalized report assessing several skill areas including: pre-flop play, post-flop play, bluffing and aggression. An overall poker score is given, ranging from 75 – 130, as well as a break down of scores for each individual skill area. After reviewing the detailed assessment, players are given a recommendation on which Academy will improve their skills.

Cash game and tournament players at all skill levels benefit from this test. “As a poker player, being aware of your strengths and weaknesses is a critical first step in developing a better poker game. The Free Poker IQ Tests have been developed in order to assist players during this process, more specifically to help players select the WSOP Academy that is most suitable to each players skill level” said Brandon Rosen, President of the WSOP Academy.

Even expert poker players improve by spot-checking their game to identify weak areas in need of improvement. In poker, it is vital for players to keep win rates at a maximum level. Combining the Poker IQ Test with a World Series Academy ensures players a fast track to their personal poker success.

The World Series of Academy is a groundbreaking series of instructional programs featuring instruction from the best players in the game, including Phil Hellmuth, Greg Raymer, Mark Seif and Annie Duke. From sessions that focus on No-Limit Texas Holdem to special editions like the November Nine Academy and Poker Mindset Academy, the WSOP Academy offers amateur poker players of all skill levels a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to learn directly from the champions of the game and become champions themselves.

WSOP Academy Presents the first ever Poker Mindset Academy

Posted by: Professional Gambler  /  Category: Gambling News, Poker

The World Series of Poker Academy, poker’s premier series of instructional camps where participants learn first-hand from the world’s greatest players, announced the first ever one-day Academy focused on developing a winning mindset. This innovative Mindset Academy will be hosted by world renowned Mindset Coach and author of the bestselling book Mind’s Power Unleashed, Sam Chauhan on Friday December 4, 2009 at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas.

During the Poker Mindset Academy, Sam Chauhan will lead participants through interactive seminars and the first ever poker mindset live table lab, both of which have been designed to prepare participants for the psychological warfare often encountered during poker tournaments and cash games. Designed for players of all levels of experience, the event’s curriculum will focus on all aspects of developing a winning poker mindset, including managing emotions at the poker table, dealing with a bad beat, breaking through the barriers that keep poker players from achieving poker greatness, eliminating limiting beliefs, building the confidence that is needed to win and implementing powerful mindset techniques.

“I look forward to working with WSOP Academy participants to help them deal with the internal conflicts that they face when it’s time to make a big decision at the tables,” said Chauhan. “I plan on spending time working with participants to make them see what they don’t see, hear what they don’t want to hear and make them feel what they don’t want to feel. I’m going to help participants overcome the limiting beliefs that prevent them from achieving their best at the tables. I truly believe that mindset in the most important aspect of winning at poker.”

In poker, the reason why one player can come back from a bad beat while another player melts down and goes on tilt is due to their mindset. A winning mindset is crucial to achieving and sustaining success in poker and in life.

“Until recently, this is an aspect of poker strategy that has been neglected in poker. We are excited about offering poker player’s the opportunity to master the art of achieving the optimal poker mindset at this one of a kind Academy. Mindset is what differentiates consistent winning players from the rest. A common denominator amongst winning poker players is having a winning mindset”, said Brandon Rosen of the WSOP Academy.

Sam Chauhan is a masterful mindset expert who coaches celebrities, professional athletes, and poker players and is one of the most sought after mindset coaches in the world.
